This book does not count you, follow you or ask who you are. It has no analytics and sets no cookies, and there is nothing here to sign up for.

What stays on your own device

Two small things: the place you had reached in the book, and the text size you picked. They are stored in your own browser, so the book can pick up where you left off. They do not come back to anyone running this site. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Videos

A video on these pages starts out as a still picture, and that still is kept on this site. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press it. Once you press, your browser connects to YouTube, and YouTube's own privacy terms apply to what happens next.

Links to other sites

The notes link to agencies and other sources, and some chapters link to stores run by the same team as this book, as What this book is explains. Once you follow a link you are on that site, under that site's rules.

What any website involves

Your browser has to ask for each page, and the service that delivers these pages receives that request and your internet address in order to answer it. This book does not use that to build any picture of its readers.
